We had an excellent experience with Phil and his team at Xscapes Landscaping, who built our garden room and completely transformed our garden.
From the initial enquiry, Phil was proactive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He recommended a garden room that genuinely suited my needs and happened to be on offer at the time, which immediately gave me confidence that he was thinking practically and in my best interests. Out of all the contractors I contacted, Phil was the only one who took the time to visit the property, measure up properly, and bring his electrician with him so he could provide an accurate quote without guesswork.
Communication was excellent throughout the entire project. As I work abroad and wasn’t on site, Phil project-managed everything for me and ran every decision past me clearly and professionally. I really valued his experience when discussing upgrades; he always explained options, provided clear information and quotes, and allowed me to make informed choices. When details needed clarifying, he sent photos and followed up with thoughtful email discussions so nothing was assumed or overlooked.
The work took place in January, and the team had to contend with extremely wet and windy conditions. Despite this, at the end of each day everything was carefully covered and secured with tarpaulins to protect the work and keep the space safe for my family. Seeing the project take shape from afar was genuinely exciting, and I was consistently impressed by the team’s attention to detail and the high quality of their workmanship.
Every new request was met with a positive “no problem” attitude, and as a result, every part of the garden — every wall and surface — was upgraded to a consistently high standard. The project was completed on time despite the challenging weather and finished to an exceptionally high level.

Phil and his team were superb in transforming our back garden. Getting the digger in itself to not an easy garden was impressive itself before the great work including building a natural water feature and raised vegetable beds. His team on the ground were always happy to provide ideas and suggestions where needed and tidied everything up. Would wholly recommend this company for any work required.

We moved into our house in 2019, we inherited about 70 Square Metres of wooden decking. Over the years we have been preserving the wood with decking oil, a task that took about two days to complete, but in the past couple of years parts had started sinking so it was time for drastic action.
Enter Xscapes. Phil attended and we discussed options. We agreed on composite decking with a frameless glass surround, broadly following the same layout as our wooden decking.
A few days later we received the quote and decided to go ahead. Work started on the day Phil had scheduled in the calendar. Two landscapers attended, Karl and Reagan, and began the task of removing all the old deck, complicated by an existing summerhouse still in situ on the deck. Karl, a craftsman, then began to construct the wooden framework that formed the base of the new decking ensuring that any part touching the ground was either concrete or secured in concrete for longevity. During the construction, we decided that we wanted the addition of a Pergola which Karl built onto the framework. The chosen composite decking was then laid and steps were built. The frameless glass, that was ordered prior to work starting, fitted perfectly. Karl had also made provisions whilst building the decking to help their electrician Sam when fitting lighting to the project.
Now complete, the whole project looks better than I could have envisaged, we are so happy with our outdoor living space which I am sure, having seen it being constructed, will last for many years.
